The Caldera Experiment

Caldera by night

New texture set and further model tweaking. The new texture adds a plethora of possible variety

And some more pics....

Here's a few pics of current progress...

After littering my main blog with numerous Caldera posts I figured it would be a good idea to give it its own page.

It also seems I now have a partner in crime that has some ideas of his own. BadLuckBurt has stepped up to assist me in the experiment. He's going to (hopefully) make the place come alive which will give me more time to concentrate on the new models.

The Plan

While Caldera is supposedly a rich, flourishing, important town in Vvardenfell with its ebony mines and Imperial presence it has very little to offer.

A few quests here and there from the Governor and of course the Scamp. He really defies all logic but he's there, so there he shall stay. Albeit in much better surroundings.

Everything in the town is to be bulldozed to make way for new development. All the models for the housing will be replaced with new ones. Everyone will get their own place and there will be streets and ally's.

If there is time I will be adding dialogue to the random NPC's and I'm sure Burt has his own plans for that as well.

No massive quests will be added to the town this time around but a few fetch me, carry me ones are sure to appear.

I don't want to give too much away as to Burts mission in this experiment but I will say that it should make Caldera come alive to a much greater extent than any other mod has managed or attempted.

The plan is actually to release on May 1st (Morrowinds 16th birthday (and also my youngest daughters 20th. How sad is that?)) for the Mad May Moddathon. Six weeks to do everything is a tight squeeze so if there are any thoughts and ideas floating around out there then join on my Discord up there in the list under "Dwemer Rebirth Project"

Edit**

Due to Burt starting a new job and me having to fly off to Portugal for a family wedding on May 2nd the project can no longer be released for the Moddathon. We are continuing with it as hard as ever and will be releasing sometime after my trip.

Here are a few models to whet the appetite;

I've neglected Morrowind once again! The neck went wonky and I couldn't sit here wasting my life but...I did get a chance to finish ...
